Can I get tickets at the door?
No! You must purchase your ticket by midnight on February 18th or you will not be able to attend this event. No tickets are available at the door or on the day of the event.
I bought my ticket but I can't go now. What should I do?
Tickets are non-refundable. But you may transfer your ticket to another Yale G&P student, postdoc or their guest (21+). See below.
How do I transfer my ticket to my friend?
You must have an Eventbrite account to transfer a ticket. Log into your account, or make one, and follow the instructions here. You can transfer your ticket to someone else by updating your order information with the new attendee's information.
I am not a current Yale G&P student or postdoc. Can I come to the McDougal Winter Ball?
You are most cordially invited to the ball as the guest of a Yale G&P student or postdoc. Please note that only current students and postdocs may purchase tickets for you.
What is the dress code?
The suggested attire is dressy, cocktail party attire i.e. cocktail or long dresses, jacket and/or tie with shirt. Tuxedos and ballgowns are not mandatory. National dress (e.g. kilt, sari) or military dress are welcome as well.
Do I need a mask?
This will be a masquerade ball so masks are highly encouraged! Come to our mask-making event (keep an eye out for it in the GSAS Calendar), make your own mask or buy a mask. We will also be providing basic masks at the door (while supplies last).
Do I need a date?
Most definitely not. Come with your friends if you don't have a date!
Will there be an open bar?
No, there will only be a cash bar. Drinks cost from $5-$7. Free ice water will be available all night. See the General Information page for more details.
What kind of dancing will there be?
While this is the Winter Ball, ballroom dancing skills are certainly not required. We will be playing Top 40 hits and dance music from 10pm - 1am.
I still have questions. Who do I contact?
