Study reveals nuanced relationship between people and flooding in Congo Basin

A first-of-its-kind ethnographic project in Africa’s Congo Basin shows the seasonal variability of flooding and other weather patterns across time and space — as well as people’s experiences and adaptations to it. Katherine Meier, a PhD candidate in the combined Anthropology and Environmental Studies program, is the lead author of the study.
