Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning

In alignment with President Salovey’s goal of creating a “more unified Yale,” the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning consolidates the various teaching, tutoring, writing, English and foreign language study, and technology-enabled learning programs distributed across the University. The CTL offers programs and services designed especially for graduate students:

Support with Writing & Oral Communications (CTL Graduate Writing Lab)

Support with Teaching (CTL Graduate Teaching Development)

The Center supports effective course design and promotes evidence-based teaching methods for university instructors, including faculty and teaching assistants. The Center encourages student learning and provides opportunities for students and postdoctoral scholars throughout the University to develop as writers, teachers, mentors, and leaders. The graduate student focused programs of the CTL are supported in part by the McDougal Graduate Student Center Endowment.
