Teaching during election week

October 26, 2020

In a year marked by unprecedented disruptions due to COVID-19, we now approach the final weeks before a presidential election. Both students and instructors may be feeling increased anxiety during these divisive times. The Poorvu Center offers guidance to help instructors manage difficult dialogues in the classroom and to create an inclusive environment where learning is prioritized.

You are invited to join faculty colleagues to discuss preparation for challenging classroom dynamics in the coming weeks. The Poorvu Center is partnering with Yale Health and the University Life office to include resources about student well-being and mental health.

The Poorvu Center will host three discussion-based sessions to provide faculty with an opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas with colleagues, and develop a plan for your courses leading up to and after election day.
