The Graduate School Dean's Office
The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) is one of the 14 schools that comprise Yale University, a world-class research institution based in New Haven, Connecticut. In addition to GSAS, the university is home to Yale College and 13 professional schools. At GSAS, we draw on the resources of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) and the professional schools in order to prepare students to become the scholars, researchers, professors, and leaders of tomorrow. The Graduate School’s programs and resources exist to enable our students to achieve their academic, intellectual, and professional goals.
The Dean’s Office provides centralized support for GSAS students and faculty, as well as its many academic, pre-professional, social, and cultural programs. We set and administer Graduate School policy, steward and distribute university resources, advocate for the needs of graduate students, and provide leadership to advance the mission and strategic direction of GSAS.
