Teaching fellow Employment Verification for Social Security Number

If you are a Ph.D., M.A., or M.S. international student assigned to a TF position requiring employment verification for a social security number, please submit the following form.

For students in a professional school seeking degrees other than a Ph.D., M.A., or M.S., please contact the Student Employment Office (student.employment@yale.edu) for verification.

Please allow up to five business days for your request to be processed.

Visa Type

Non-Ph.D., M.A., or M.S. professional school students assigned to a TF postion must contact Student Empolyment (student.employment@yale.edu) for verification.

I-9 Fieldset

Employment verification cannot be granted until you have submitted your I-9 form.

To verify identity and employment eligibility, all new employees must complete via Workday Section 1 of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification no later than your first day of employment, as required by federal law. By the end of your third day of work, new hires must have their I-9 verification completed by Employee Services. Please sign up for an appointment within 3 business days of your hire date. Complete your I-9 portion on or before the first day of hire in the Workday application before your scheduled appointment. All documents presented must be original, unexpired and in printed form for your in-person appointment (not accepted from view on a phone).

Once you have completed your I-9 form, the Teaching Fellow Program can provide a letter of employment verification.
