Dates and Deadlines

Please note that all deadlines are subject to change at any time.

Summer-Fall 2017 

Applicants should take respective GRE, GRE Subject, TOEFL or IELTS and GMAT exams no later than November in order to guarantee that official scores reach the Graduate School by the application deadline for the department to which you are applying.

December 1, 2017

Deadline for Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) and Psychology*.

December 15, 2017

Deadline for American Studies*, Anthropology*, Astronomy, Chemistry, Comparative Literature*, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Economics, Engineering and Applied Science (Biomedical, Chemical & Environmental, and Electrical, only), Film and Media Studies*, Germanic Languages and Literatures*, History*, History of Science and Medicine, Law, Linguistics, Mathematics, Political Science*, Public Health, Religious Studies*, Statistics, Statistics and Data Science.

January 2, 2018

Deadline for all other departments*.

*Note: The deadline to submit an application to a combined program is always the earlier deadline of the two individual programs (e.g. History has a deadline of December 15 and Classics has a deadline of January 2. The deadline for a combined program with History and Classics is the earlier of the two deadlines: December 15).

**For prospective students applying from Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands: due to recent hurricanes, applications will be accepted through January 2, 2018 for all programs. Furthermore, please email if you are in need of addition accommodation or flexibility regarding GRE requirements or fee waivers.

Official admissions decisions for fall 2018 communicated to applicants.

April 15, 2018

Deadline for applicant responses to most offers of admission for fall 2018.

June 15, 2018

Deadline for applicants to the non-degree Visiting Student (Division of Special Registration) for fall 2018 entry.
