PhD student receives Ana María Matute Award for excellence in Spanish studies

Ana Fernández-Blázquez, a PhD student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, was selected for the Sigma Delta Pi and Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas’ Ana María Matute Award.
The award is granted each triennium to one graduate student of Spanish/Hispanic Studies who is a member of Sigma Delta Pi (the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society) and who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in coursework completed and exemplary involvement in extra-curricular activities related to Spanish/Hispanic Studies.
Fernández-Blázquez received the award at Sigma Delta Pi’s 30th Triennial Convention held in Panama City, Panama, on June 26.
