FEAST Frequently Asked Questions

Faculty members who supervise TFs or PTAIs during the current term are eligible to enroll in the Free Eating Attracts Students & Teachers (FEAST) meal program, offering faculty up to four meals per student to host them to lunch. Below are commonly asked questions.

At the beginning of each term, a message is sent out to qualifying faculty members to enroll in the meal program.

Facilitating meals is a large task that involves coordinating with many operational units. It is much more efficient to process swipes at one time, and for this reason we will not allow enrollments after the deadline.

FEAST participants receive four meals per TF per term.

After processing your own meal, inform the desk attendant that you will use "Dining Points" for your TF. If eating at a residential college or at Commons, and you are on a meal plan, your swipe will be deducted from your meal plan first. If you are not on a FAS meal plan, dining point have been provided for both you and your TF, in which case you can redeem all your meals with dining points.

To view the remaining personal and TF FEAST meals you have remaining on your ID visit the Yale ID Card Services page. Click on Student/Staff Login link in the left column to access your meal plan account. Please note, each dining point is equivilant to $15, and only meal plans on Yale IDs are viewable, not meal voucher cards.

The dining points can be used at: 

For security reasons, only certain members of the Yale community are allowed access to residential colleges. If you are a fellow of a college, your ID should allow you access. If you do not have affiliation with a college, present your ID to a student entering or exiting the college gate and explain you are hosting a teaching fellow to lunch and do not have access, but are permitted to eat in the dining hall. You can also contact the residential college head's office beforehand to request a student aide greet you at the gate when you arrive. You can find a list of colleges on the Residential Colleges webpage.

When hosting students at Commons dining hall, each kiosk must be used at the different food stations for each student. 

Café Med and West Campus dining points have an equivalent of $15. 

No. The meal dining points are intended for students with TF appointments during the current fall or spring terms of the academic year.

No. Only supervising faculty members of PTAIs, AT, or TFs are eligible for the FEAST meal program. GSAS PhD students can enroll in the Meals for Mentors (M4M) program.

The benefit is offered to ladder faculty and full-time instructional faculty who hold multi-year appointments in the FAS with at least 50% teaching effort per year. If their current appointment meets all those criteria, please have them reach out to the FAS Dean’s office so they may be added.
