Shah Karim

'81 BA, '87 MA, '07 MPhil Economics // Founder & CEO of SafeRock

 

Shah received his BA in '81, his MA in '87, and his MPhil in '07 in Economics at Yale. A passionate thinker and community builder, Shah is the Chief Executive Officer of SafeRock and serves as advisory to Fortune 100 enterprises and investment groups in North America, Europe, and Asia on strategy, digital transformation and leadership for the consumer, industrial, and energy sectors. He is a Co-Founder of the non-profit ‘Friends of Yale from Industry’, and served on Yale University's Board of Governors, Advisory boards at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, Penn State University, and the  University of North Texas. Shah is an Innovation Fellow at Columbia Business School. He is Co-Chair of the Board for the Chemical Marketing and Economics (CME) association serving industrial companies. 

Shah has led a series of Thought Leadership discussions with participants from the US State Department, US Department of Energy, and leaders from industry to discuss energy transition, critical minerals, cleantech and Artificial Intelligence. He is a keen believer in connecting industry leaders with the public sector to find solutions for global sustainability.

He is a Keynote speaker on Leadership, Energy Markets, and Artificial Intelligence at numerous international conferences including in North America, Europe, and Asia. He has spoken at the International Energy Forum (IEF), Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), World Petrochemical Conference (WPC), and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). He has authored articles in peer-reviewed and industry publications. He is a judge for the MacArthur Foundation's $100 million prize for driving global social innovation, and a Fellow of the Tribeca Disruptors Foundation which is a community of accomplished and promising innovators dedicated to propelling their respective fields further.
